Music PR, or public relations for music, is the strategic promotion of a new release, tour, or other music related news to the public via the media. People who work in PR (like me) liaise between labels and/or musicians and the media to try and get album reviews, profiles of the band/artist, reviews of live shows and so on. PR isn't a one way ticket to fame and a feature in Rolling Stone, but it's the first step to getting there.
By getting your bio out to music publications/ blogs/podcasts, we are raising your profile within the industry. This therefore gets you on the radar of journalists and industry leaders, which is an integral part of building your brand.
